Beachfront Vacation Homes By The Oceanfront

Who does not adore the beach? I always loved the flicks from the 60's, like Mr. Hobbs Takes a Vacation, where the family piled right into a station wagon and headed to a decrepit beach house for the summer. Lots of high jinks and teenage summer time romances frequently followed. Beachfront vacation homes have always appealed to me.

Not many of us can purchase a home on the beach, but there are lots for lease all over the country. Merely select a beach on either coast and you're sure to find something within your price range.

Florida would be the usual preference of many people up here inside the frozen north. My individual option would be on the Georgia coast. Jekyll Island, St. Simon's and Sea Island all have homes for rent. Sea Island is way out of my price range, but St. Simon's and Jekyll are superb. The costs in many lesser known coastal towns are most likely lower and no less lovely.

We had a very nice weekend in Fernandina Beach, Fla. The small cottage wasn't fancy, but it was a quick walk to the beach, plus the environment was perfect. It was also not overly crowded and it was great to simply walk back following each day in the sun rather than driving back home. You could sleep easily listening to the sound from the waves. Ahhh.

Maine is a popular getaway for beach rentals. Lobster bakes, must I say more? Local seafood is usually a perk of staying on the beach. I like to arise early and simply gaze at the sea birds and roaring waves. Sunset is an extra pleasant time to walk at the beach.

You can certainly rent a beachfront vacation home in Mexico or the Caribbean if you prefer the crowds and amenities a resort brings. I'd preferably spend my money to rent a vacation home on a peaceful lesser known beach and simply rest and enjoy it.
